What Is Rough And Bumpy Skin?
So having as many names as strawberry skin, chicken skin, and bumpy skin Keratosis Pilaris is not so pleasing to the eye. Thankfully, it is harmless and though not curable we can unclog those follicles that hold excess keratin that is causing the blockage. How? I got the tips and tricks that I have tried and tested faithfully since January of 2023. Yes, January 28,2023 to be exact!
How Did This Happen?
Keratosis pilaris develops because keratin forms a plug that blocks the hair follicle. No, it does not hurt anything but our self confidence. I know I couldn’t afford a pricey spa treatment monthly to treat it so I resorted to more affordable measures. Like most of us, we ain’t got spare spa money sitting around so I made one at home. This is not curable so don’t go in thinking that and set yourself up for failure. Believe me, I know that feeling all to well.

The Exact Routine
So I have had KP for years and I just now at this age decided to actually go hard in treating it until I saw some results. The thing is I have an issue with patience and it will take that while you treat this condition. The most effective product I have used by far is the CeraVe SA Cleanser bar soap. This is also available in body wash form. So whichever works best for you is great! I use that three times a week because of the severity of my KP. Now, my cream for treating my KP specifically is Amlactin. 
Dry Brushing
The benefits of dry brushing go beyond the surface. Things like unclogging pores, lymphatic drainage, and boost circulation which aids in a natural glow.
Moisturizers
Now these are pretty much the icing on the cake. Did you get that? 🤣…ok cool! So this is best done right after you get out the shower to lock in the moisture. I’m a above sentence I mentioned AmLactin. This has AHA’s in in so if you have any tiny cuts or or open wounds, steer clear! IT WILL BURN! This has worked wonders on my skin as far as texture goes.
Patience
I lack this, and this is one of the reasons it took me so long to stick it out. Need to see results right away? I am she and she is me! If I didn’t see results immediately I was done. Yet, this journey has taught me in order to see the fruits, you got to stick through the process.
