What Is freedom to you?
Freedom looks different for everybody and finding what makes you happy is important not what social media says and not what the people on your street say. Unfortunately, we are plagued with a society that has set a certain type of standard of what beauty, popularity, and wealth look like. Yet, can can look different for everyone. It also gives you a peace of mind and able for you to set your own standards and boundaries.
Not trying to conform to the norm and understanding what I like is freedom. If I am happy with my looks, my bank account, and the genuinely caring people around then that can mean success for me. That can definitely be my freedom. We put so much emphasis on the outer that we forget inner. Which subconsciously can be steering us in the wrong direction if its not addressed. Like those self-sabotaging behaviors we do not want to address.
Self awareness is freedom. Therapy is freedom. Healing is freedom. Forgiveness is freedom. We put a emphasis on the surface without addressing the foundation. It’s not our fault though so don’t beat yourself up. Forgive yourself for not knowing what you know now. That my friend, is another form of freedom. By right, cleaning the inside will manifest a better outward image. What’s more freeing then being your true authentic self.
Freedom means you are unobstructed in living your life as you choose. Anything less is a form of slavery.
Wayne Dyer
