The Girls
Okay, so I have twin girls that are opposite in ways but alike in ways also. One’s favorite color is pink and the other one adores purple. Id I had to give them a style at 4, because we all know this will change, right now they are both kind of girly. So dress up, baby dolls, and tea parties are things they both like. Right now, they are also both interested in gymnastics. So creating this room for them will not be extremely hard because they both will like the design.
The Wall
Okay, so starting with the walls in the room, I wanted to do a peel and stick wallpaper accent wall. I kind of want it to be the main attraction, but not to busy. So I am not in any way a fan of unicorns, but I love a good floral. The only thing with the floral is how long will they like it. When this room takes shape they will be five and we all know how those personalities really kick in. So here are my floral options:
I couldn’t shrink the last one to fit in line and that really frustrated me. But moving along, these are all really pretty and I love the colors and the scenery. I think they scream little girl’s room, but it can still grow with them up until age 10. I did look at some non floral options and got these:
Those were okay but they love rainbow colors and the pink and orange one blended well together. I love the black, white and pink one because it looks cute for little girls. I don’t think it’s one that could grow with them but still cute nonetheless.
The Bedding
Picking bedding probably had to be the hardest because it was so many options. Yet, with the floral designs I would definitely go with a more simple plain spread. You don’t want prints clashing to much. While looking for plain spreads I ended up finding some that had designs and then would warrant a different wall concept altogether. Which I’m not opposed to either because I love a good painted board and batten. Here are the spread options:
So cute right? Some of these are completely different from the wall paper ideas but I know that my girls would be thrilled about them. I want their room to make them happy. A joy that they have when they go in there to play or go to sleep. So with that, they love them a good rainbow. So when I saw the rainbow i knew they would be excited about that. My personal favorite is the one that says “Dream Big”. The colors in there are so pretty and I could still incorporate pinks through out the room.
The Furniture
I pretty much knew what furniture I wanted to do in their room. I love white furniture for little girls so the dresser and chest will both be while, but I plan on changing the knobs on both pieces to gold. Why gold? Because I saw this really pretty gold bed i want both of them to have. I think whatever direction we take their room in, it will work for whatever concept. I like a good versatile piece of furniture. Here are the items I picked out for their furniture:
I was gonna do a separate section for the rugs and curtains but I decided to add them here also because it’s not a lot and I wanted those to be minimal also because I don’t want to much clashing. Here are the items I saw for the room accessories:
So the white one with multi color dots is my favorite. White rug in a five year old room could be quite dangerous but they won’t have drinks, paint ,slime, or any other destructive chemical in there. Again, once we choose which items then I can present to you all the vision board for the items to kind of see it all put together. So check back soon!
