Okay, I really like this time of year because the weather is cooler, all the beautiful colors, and food! Yes, the food because we get this time of year is heart warming! If you are like me, then having a big family is so much. There is a lot of activities you can do in and outside of the house in this season. In this read, we will talk about outside because the weather is top-notch September through November.
Pumpkin Patch
It can not be fall without a pumpkin patch! My three youngest who are five and four have not been to one and I am disappointed in that, but this year will be the year! So at most patches, the ones that I have been to anyways, have several different activities to choose from. Hayrides, bouncy house, games, and petting zoos. They are pretty much the epitome of fall time fun! I did some research for some patches in my area and i have found some that offer zip lining, nerf wars, and picnic areas to enjoy.
ZooBoo
So this is an event where our local zoo transform the area from animal sightseeing to fall scenes. Each weekend in October is a different theme and you can dress up around those themes and enjoy themed activities. This is mostly a child friendly atmosphere, but they do offer a haunted hayride. We will not be partaking in that because we don’t do scary things like that and my kids will all be in the bed with me that night. Thankfully, they do offer a non scary more traditional hay ride for this reason. There are themed bouncy houses, games, and activities where the kids can win prizes and candy.
Fall Festivals
I love fall festivals because they are fun, but also free! In the month of October you will run across several here in Alabama. Churches, companies, and schools all host these events so they are pretty safe. My kids love going to them for the candy, activities, and food. We only went to one last year because of schedules and time restraints but I hope to venture out a find a couple more to take the kids to. Not all of them come with food so watch out for that.
