One thing that I have learned about PCOS is that it is very emotionally draining. Actually, that is a serious side effect because it makes you not want to do for yourself and it’s almost depressing. I have been dealing with PCOS since 2017. Often I feel as if I hit a roadblock with the treatment because I have lost weight and gained it right back. That’s the emotional toll it has. Family members, especially husbands. do not understand the effects. Again this is just my opinion having dealt with that personally. A lot of times people do not talk about it because we are not aware of how many people are dealing with it. You feel almost broken and then you get angry at your body. That is completely understandable no one wants to constantly think of the negative that comes with it. I mean your whole body stature change and you grow facial hair while losing the hair on your head. Explain to me how you explain this to people! How do you explain it without crying or feeling hopeless with no end in sight. I do however have a few tips or suggestions actually. There are supplements that might help ease your symptoms. Then we can all agree the lessening of symptoms makes for a happier day.
- NAC has great benefits for women with PCOS thanks to its antioxidant properties. It reduces insulin resistance, lower testosterone levels, improve fertility, and regulate your period. And for us that sounds like a winner. https://www.pipingrock.com/n-acetyl-cysteine/n-acetyl-cysteine-nac-600-mg-250-coated-caplets-3814?prd=D0000J&prisp=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwo4mIBhBsEiwAKgzXOC701ilF3_SSvsad6W62hY7DQaPzHvImdzuVSUJ2ZN3CQaeCCp2a_hoC9xIQAvD_BwE&v2
- Berberine can offer some awesome benefits to women with PCOS including better fertility, help with weight loss, and lower risk for metabolic complications. - Myo and D-Chiro Inositol has benefits relating to metabolic parameters such as lowering insulin, cholesterol, and inflammatory measures when taking a combination of myo and DCI. https://theralogix.com/products/ovasitol-inositol-powder
So I can honestly say that the supplements mentioned above are some of the best to treat PCOS. I would consider it a starting point because there are so many on the market that will help and I for sure am wanting to find a steady routine to get to the root of the problem which is most times insulin resistance. Met Forman has been horrible on my stomach and has had terrible side effects to the point where I couldn’t even take it regularly. And yes it did lower the insulin levels but most of the time I couldn’t function normally because I had to stay close to the restroom and that’s not fun when you’re at a theme park or in a important meeting. If you can start anywhere I would start with the Ovasitol. The ratio 40:1 helped me so much. In three weeks I got my cycle back after almost a year of not having it. Nothing beats getting to the root cause and that is the insulin resistance. On August 12th I go to a endocrinologist to hopefully get more answers and come up with a solution! I will keep you posted.
