Here recently I really got into my jewelry collection. The fact that it just elevates your look a couple of notches, without having to do to much is everything.
Most people have a tone preference but I am in love with gold, white gold, and rose gold. Having variety is what I like the most. Now, I would go into Target and Wal-Mart and pick up my jewelry but after three wears they are brown. Wanna talk about upset! So as I started building, and really being grown about my jewelry, I found out that your jewelry would need to be plated to combat tarnishing. Okay, so gold plated jewelry is pieces that contain a thin layer of gold over the top of another metal. This is better than just the gold paint that is applied over the regular stuff. That is why after three wears, sweat, and perfume the jewelry is now brown. Plated jewelry will eventually wear out due to consistent wear and tear but it can last for years before that happens. Brands like Pavoi on Amazon carry some really fun and fashionable jewelry pieces but the price is even better. These bottega dupes are everything! This brand never ceases to amaze me.
Plated jewelry is easier to find and more affordable but that does not mean you cant find quality pieces. Vermeil is another method for long lasting jewelry that will not tarnish.
Gold Vermeil Jewelry
This is another form of gold plating that places gold plating over sterling silver. Also, lasting you approximately three years it is better quality than gold plating. Let’s say more durable with everyday wear. The price for vermeil jewelry fluctuates but I have seen it range from 20.00-50.00. That is still really affordable to me.
